It is a bit of an understatement to say that this has been a bad week but, that's what I'll call it. This will come as a bit of a surprise to a lot of people but, just before Christmas(December 22), Graham & I found out we were pregnant. I have to admit I cried a little at first. I had entertained the idea of a third baby but, I wasn't planning (or trying) to get pregnant right before I returned to work. It was just such a surprise that it was a little overwhelming. After sitting down and chatting with Graham, things seemed great and very manageable. We told our families and some close friends who were shocked but, very happy. Unfortunately on Monday I started spotting and had an ultrasound on Wednesday that confirmed our worst fears. It was a "blighted ovum". What that means is the egg fertilizes, implants but, then never develops after that and you eventually miscarry. It's been a bit of a roller coaster ride but, I was really starting to get excited about a new baby in the house. I am the poster child for "Everything happens for a reason" but, that doesn't make it any easier when you first find out. I'm doing better now and just letting nature take its course. I'm sad about what could have been but, it just wasn't meant to be right now. Will there be more babies down the road? That is something Graham & I will be discussing and we'll see. It's not completely out of the question but, we'll see where life takes us. For now I'm enjoying my beautiful family and thanking all my friends/family who have been there for me (you all know who you are!!) during an extremely rough time!
Hope everyone is looking forward to their weekend! I'm OK and looking forward to spending some quality time outside with the kids now that the weather is finally starting to improve! I'm off to get the kids to bed and I'll be back soon!
((( Hugs))) Peggy. Sorry for the hard week and the crappy thing you had to go through.
